We have been traveling all around the country since Mamma Aku (born on Wednesday), and Auntie Yawa (born on Thrusday) arrived on the 21st of July. We started in Accra and have traveled througout the Volta area where I live. We then went north to Mole National Park and are now spending two days in the Kumasi area. If you are interested in tracking the remaining week of adventure, we can be found here. Here are some photos, with Mother and Ann both having snapped plenty more.

we are having the time and experience of our lives. riding the tro-tro is unlike anything ever experienced and eating native foods— challenging but fun; loved the orphanage and the school, and seeing scott at work in the volta school for the deaf is fascinating. such a different way of life here and hard to describe. traveling the country is a challenge. it is the size of oregon, but going from one end to the other takes longer than going across the country. the people are warm and friendly and most speak english. the sights, sounds, smells are different and fascinating to the senses. I love my life!!! auntie yawa (ann)
I love the pictures. I am glad to see that you all are having such a great visit! What an experience! Keep the pictures coming!
Hello fellow PCV! I plan to visit Ghana with another PCV the end of September/first part of October and hope to meet up with you. Any words of advise for us “older” volunteers appreciated. We are currently in The Gambia enjoying the hot, humid weather. Please feel free to e-mail me –
