I have made it out to Denver, Colorado and it is absolutely beautiful. The sun has come out every day since I arrived, and the dry climate makes 15 degrees feel very pleasant. In Ohio, 15 degrees would keep me indoors, but here its perfect fishing weather!
On Monday, I went fly fishing with a couple of old high school friends that I hadn’t seen in years. Kevin is a fishing guide and trip planner for Turneffe Flats. He drove down from Bozeman, Montana for a fly fishing show in Denver, and Wyatt has been living in Denver for years and spends his weekends exploring and taking in the scenery with his wife. Kevin and Wyatt lead me to Deckers on the Platte where we were greeted by beautiful water, snow covered mountains, and a beautiful 16 inch rainbow trout, although I found myself taking more pictures than fishing. I explored and climbed the area, while Kevin and Wyatt fished. The air was intoxicating and I felt like I was absorbing the energy from my surroundings. I felt recharged after our trip and enjoyed the chance to catch up with friends. Now it’s time to get back to work. I look am looking forward to next weekend, when I will explore more of the Colorado scenery. I plan on living in Denver for the next 3-5 months, as I help a fellow artist convert a residence into an art gallery and portrait studio. So far, the project is moving along nicely and I am loving the time I am spending here in Colorado. I will post more on the gallery/portrait studio later.
